Lerch Early is pleased to announce that real estate and community associations attorney Steven Dunn has been named a principal in the firm.

Dunn works with developers, landlords, tenants, builders, property owners, and purchasers in a variety of complex real estate transactions in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. He also represents condominiums, cooperatives, and homeowners associations in a wide range of matters.

“Steven is a highly valued member of two practice groups and of the firm at large,” said Ruth Katz, Lerch Early’s managing partner and Steven’s colleague in the Community Associations group. “He’s a great attorney and an outstanding representative of Lerch Early in the community. This promotion is well-deserved.”

On the real estate side, Dunn helps developers and builders purchase and plan for the development of land, including the preparation of governing documents, easements and other necessary documents for various common interest projects and to ensure compliance with state and local disclosure and registration requirements. In addition, he works with parties to purchase or sell a variety of types of real estate, including multi-family, mixed use, commercial, and industrial, and drafts and negotiates a variety of easements, covenants, and other real-estate related contracts.

Dunn also has a robust leasing practice, helping landlords and tenants with the leasing of space for a variety of uses, including retail, warehouse, restaurant, biotech, and other uses.

In representing community associations, Dunn assists clients with necessary amendments to governing documents and policy resolutions, warranty claims, complex contract review, association collections and foreclosures.

Dunn is a George Mason University alumnus, having earned a B.A. in Government and International Politics and his J.D from there. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Community Residences, Inc., which provides personalized resources for individuals with mental health issues and developmental disabilities in Maryland and Northern Virginia.
