Elder law attorney Jenica Cassidy will be speaking on guardianship at the 11th Annual Active Aging Expo on May 6.  The expo is presented by Asbury Methodist Village and the City of Gaithersburg.

Jenica will give the options available when an adult is lacks the capacity to make or communicate responsible decisions regarding health care or financial matters. A court may appoint a guardian of the person and/or a guardian of the property. Guardianship petitions may be filed by family members, friends, concerned neighbors, homeowner associations, religious organizations, health care providers and the like.

Jenica works with older adults of all income levels and their family members to plan for and resolve legal issues related to aging, such as long-term care needs, disability, and incapacity. For more information about guardianship, contact Jenica at [email protected] or 301-347-1269.
