Lerch, Early & Brewer is pleased to welcome highly respected divorce attorney Meg McKinney as a principal in the firm. McKinney has more than 30 years of experience representing clients in complex financial and custody matters in Maryland and Washington, D.C.

“We’re thrilled to bring on an attorney of Meg’s caliber,” said Erin L. Kopelman, co-chair of Lerch Early’s Family Law department. “Her reputation as a top family law attorney is well-earned, and we’re very pleased she’ll now be serving clients under the Lerch Early flag.”

McKinney comes to Lerch Early from McKinney Figini. She is joined at Lerch Early by two attorneys from her team, senior associate Mary R. Likos and associate Neemi B. Patel.

“All three attorneys add depth and breadth to our practice helping us to continue to serve our clients at a high level,” said Erik P. Arena, co-chair of the Family Law practice. “Their addition immediately bolsters our ability to meet our clients where they are in Maryland and DC.”

McKinney is a go-to mediator for complicated divorce matters constructing settlements and resolutions that serve the long-term needs and interests of her clients and their children. She is highly skilled in financial analysis and has represented clients in extremely complex, high net worth cases in both Maryland and the District of Columbia. McKinney works as an expert witness for attorney colleagues and has been named one of Washington DC’s top family lawyers in Washingtonian magazine for more than a decade, among others.

In joining Lerch Early, McKinney found the firm’s full service offerings to be appealing, as well as joining an established family law practice.

“For me, I realized that my clients would be better served by a larger firm platform with a deeper bench of family lawyers as well as practices in other areas outside of the family law realm,” McKinney said. “My team and I are pleased to make this move to a firm like Lerch Early that has an exceptional reputation in the community and a well-respected family law practice.”

In addition to its family law practice, Lerch Early offers advice and assistance in many other practice areas including in trusts and estates, corporate, tax, real estate, land use, community associations, litigation, employment, and commercial lending in Maryland, DC, and Virginia.
