Overview

Neemi Patel is a family law attorney who skillfully guides clients through the legal process in domestic matters in Maryland.

Armed with a passion for supporting survivors of domestic violence from all backgrounds, Neemi found her calling in helping people achieve freedom through family law. This drive to help those who may feel hopeless serves clients who are often entangled in complex, messy, and intensely emotional situations. Finding a clear path forward is incredibly important to Neemi and a foundational value to her work.

Neemi is an empathetic and efficient advocate who works closely with families to learn their unique stories. By doing so she can best discover and ensure they reach their legal goals.

Throughout law school, Neemi gained valuable experience in the metropolitan DC area in various roles, including as a Student Attorney with the Family Justice Litigation Clinic at the GW Law School where she practiced in the D.C. Superior Court. She has also worked at several nonprofit organizations, including the National Network to End Domestic Violence, the Domestic Violence Legal Empowerment and Appeals Project, and the Tahirih Justice Center.

In those roles, she helped clients who have suffered abuse or been through traumatic experiences resolve various complex legal issues, ranging from asylum and immigration matters to protection orders and child custody disputes.

Neemi is a 2023 graduate of The George Washington University Law School where she was an active member of The George Washington Law Review and a contributor to the Criminal Law Brief. She is a member of the Maryland Bar Association and the Bar Association of Montgomery County.

Coming from a family of Indian immigrants, Neemi is very passionate about her South Asian roots. In her free time, she loves doing all things creative, including art/painting, music, and dance (she was captain of her South Asian dance team in college). When she’s not traveling or dreaming about the beach, she’s probably curled up with a good sci-fi or mythology book.
