This includes bringing claims for breach of fiduciary duty and under the SAFE Act. The program will also cover estate planning strategies to minimize exposure and provide practical application on how to succeed.

Investigations Under the Microscope: Getting It Right When the Stakes Are High (Jim Hammerschmidt): Internal investigations can determine an organization’s ability to effectively handle employee complaints, regulatory checks, or potential lawsuits. This program will outline the essential steps for conducting thorough investigations, from assembling the investigation team to safeguarding confidentiality and maintaining attorney-client privilege. Panelists from both the employee and employer sides will discuss common mistakes, strategies for credibility assessments, and lessons from real-world cases to help practitioners ensure investigations are both defensible and fair.

The summit takes place from Wednesday, June 10 to Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center in Ocean City.
