Land Use attorney Stacy Silber will speak about “Natural Gas Bans: Mandated Electrification of Commercial Real Estate” at NAIOP’s Chapter Leadership & Legislative Retreat on January 31.

Silber will present alongside Frank Canavan, senior manager of state affairs for the American Gas Association.

According to NAIOP, Silber and Canavan’s session will examine the impact of a growing number of state and local governments that are “enacting bans against the use of natural gas in the built environment, including mandating the electrification of commercial buildings, in an effort to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions and become ‘net zero’ by certain dates.”

You can find more information and register to attend on the 2023 Chapter Leadership & Legislative Retreat homepage.

Silber is a land use attorney and principal at Lerch Early who helps residential and commercial developers, national retailers, senior and affordable housing providers, and property owners navigate zoning approvals in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland.
