Legislative Alert: Montgomery County Taking Another Attempt at Passing $15 Minimum Wage

Montgomery County Council member Marc Elrich has introduced a revised bill to bump the minimum wage from $11.50 to $15 for most employers by 2020.

The original bill was vetoed by County Executive Isiah Leggett in January 2017.

The revised bill attempts to address opponents’ issues with original bill by lessening the impact on certain segments of the economy such as nonprofits and adult day-care providers.
