Lerch Early is pleased to welcome attorney Erin E. Girard as a principal in its Land Use/Zoning practice.

Girard brings more than 20 years of experience in securing approvals on a wide range of complex commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects in Maryland.

“We’re thrilled to add an attorney of Erin’s character and expertise,” said Christopher M. Ruhlen, principal and co-chair of the Land Use group at Lerch Early. “Her deep experience and knowledge of Montgomery County and Maryland zoning laws and regulations will be invaluable to Lerch Early’s clients.”

Girard represents and advises clients in all aspects of land use law, including regulatory approvals, permitting and licensing, from planning through post-construction. She handles every facet of the regulatory permitting and licensing processes, including administrative appeals, working closely with her clients and the relevant government authorities to address a variety of legal and regulatory issues before they lead to costly delays.

“I am so pleased to be joining a firm with such a comprehensive understanding of land use in the region,” Girard said. “I have long known and respected so many attorneys at Lerch Early, and I look forward to working with them.”

Girard is recognized in the top tier of Chambers USA’s rankings for Real Estate: Zoning/Land Use and in Best Lawyers in America’s rankings for Real Estate law. She is a graduate of the Urban Land Institute’s Regional Land Use Leadership Institute, has served on the Washington Regional Advisory Board for ULI, and was a member of ULI’s national Public Development and Infrastructure Council.

“For years, Erin has earned a high degree of respect, both as an attorney and a person, among members of our firm and the broader industry,” said Liz Rogers, principal and co-chair of the Land Use/Zoning group. “Her expertise, practice, and approach to cases will really fit in well with Lerch Early’s culture. We’re pleased she’s here.”
