Lerch, Early & Brewer, a full-service law firm located in Bethesda, Maryland, is seeking a Collections Paralegal to join our Community Associations Practice Group. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, professional environment while supporting a well-established practice.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of collections experience, preferably in Community Associations law within a law firm setting
  • Proven ability to manage a large, deadline-driven caseload with minimal supervision
  • Experience handling high-volume collections matters from referral through resolution, including communication with homeowners and property managers
  • Familiarity with Maryland collections procedures and applicable debt collection laws and regulations, including liens, judgments, and garnishments
  • Experience tracking accounts, payments, and deadlines using a case management system
  • Ability to accurately calculate balances, interest, late fees, and attorneys’ fees
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparing legal correspondence and pleadings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to grammar, tone, punctuation, and spelling
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with attorneys and staff
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required
