CCOC Denies HOA Air Conditioner Request
Jeff Van Grack and Ruth Katz, community association attorneys at Lerch, Early & Brewer in Bethesda, Maryland, recently represented a homeowner’s association before the Montgomery County, Maryland Commission on Common Ownership Communities (CCOC) in which a resident wished to install an air conditioning unit in the common area and snake a Freon line up the building to her unit. The hearing panel denied the request, noting that the board had the authority to deny such a request and that it used the authority in a reasonable manner.
