Success Stories: Openings and Groundbreakings

Downtown Bethesda welcomed a new Safeway store at the corner of Bradley Boulevard and Arlington Road. The new 49,000 square foot store is one of the company’s new “lifestyle” stores, featuring organic produce, fresh artisan bread and hormone-free beef. Robby Brewer and April Mackoff served as land use counsel for the project.

In other Safeway news, Patriot Realty and Foulger-Pratt started construction in Wheaton for a mixed use project featuring a new Safeway and a residential apartment complex, ushering in a new era of transit-oriented redevelopment for Wheaton. Steve Robins serves as land use counsel to Patriot Realty for the project. Steve also represents Cohen-Rosen House in Rockville, which recently held a groundbreaking for an assisted living residence designed for people with Alzheimer’s and memory loss.
