Patrick O'Neil in Washington Post and on Fox5 News Re Impact of BRAC on Bethesda Traffic

Washington Post

Patrick O'Neil appeared in The Washington Post with a letter entitled "Bethesda Braces for a BRAC Traffic Nightmare." Patrick, who serves as president of the Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce, writes about the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) consolidation at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda.  The move of personnel and facilities from Walter Reed to Navy Med will bring increased traffic to all the surrounding roads, but the federal government has yet to fund transportation improvements to mitigate its impact.  Patrick noted that "[w]ithout congressional action, what the country is left with is a first-class medical center with seemingly Third World access outside the gates." Patrick also appeared in a Fox 5 news story about the base realignment.
