Marc Engel Featured in SmartCEO Business Advice Article

Employment attorney Marc Engel, co-chair of the firm’s Employment & Labor group, was featured in an article in the June Issue of SmartCEO. The article, titled “Team Trials: Advice from DC’s Top Attorneys on Taking Care of Your People While Protecting Your Business,” includes Marc’s insight on employment law after nearly 25 years of experience.

The article covered the following questions, which were then answered by roundtable discussion:

  • What are some "rules of thumb" a business leader can use as a guide when classifying his or her workforce?
  • How should employers adjust their social media policies to comply with new regulations from the National Labor Relations Board and elsewhere?
  • What legal issues accompany the BYOD trend that CEOs should know about, and what preventive measures can they take?

To view the article, access the June issue here. (See pages 34-38.)

Marc Engel is an employment attorney at Lerch, Early & Brewer in Bethesda, Maryland who regularly counsels clients on how to comply with state and federal employment statutes, including the American With Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, and federal and state wage hour laws.
