Alison Rind to Speak at NAGGL on 'Determining Eligibility in Complex Tiered Ownership Structures'
November 13, 2018
to November 15, 2018
Lerch Early SBA lending attorney Alison Rind will be speaking at the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL) Annual Conference. Her panel, "Determining Eligibility in Complex Tiered Ownership Structures" will examine how to analyze 7(a) eligibility.
When determining 7(a) eligibility, lenders must understand every detail and nuance of an applicant’s ownership structure. Lenders are seeing increasingly complex tiered business ownership structures, in which applicant companies are owned by other entities rather than by individuals, making it a challenge to decide eligibility issues, including affiliation, what guaranties are required, etc. Alison and panelists from two banks will review basic policies and walk through several scenarios to illustrate how to analyze these complex structures to make appropriate eligibility determinations that meet SBA’s requirements and stand the test of time ... and guaranty purchase review.
Alison Rind is a commercial lending and real estate attorney who represents commercial lenders in loan transactions and other commercial matters, including participants in SBA and other government-guaranteed lending programs. She chairs Lerch Early’s Commercial Lending practice.
