Patricia Lankenau is a commercial real estate and business attorney at Lerch, Early & Brewer. As a member of the firm’s Real Estate Transactions, Business & Taxation and Commercial Lending groups, Patty represents property owners and businesses in commercial real estate transactions throughout the nation. She brings significant experience to the table as she works with clients in the acquisition, disposition, leasing and financing of commercial retail centers, warehouse projects and office facilities in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia and multi-state venues.
Patty’s practical, client-focused approach is key to helping companies successfully close commercial real estate and general business transactions. Landlords, tenants, small business owners and a national senior living facility provider are just a few of the major clients who have achieved their goals as a result of Patty’s responsive and attentive legal counsel.
She represents both buyers and sellers and landlord and tenants in complex contract and lease negotiations and helps them resolve survey, title, liability and due diligence issues. Her representations also include advising borrowers and lenders in multifaceted business and real estate financing transactions, and guiding clients in the formation and structuring of ownership and operating entities.
Patty received a Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction from the University of Virginia, where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law. Prior to joining Lerch Early, she practiced law at a renowned commercial real estate boutique in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia bars, and is also a member of the Maryland suburban chapter of CREW-Commercial Real Estate Women.
Patty lives in Fairfax County, Va., with her husband and three sons, all of whom are talented orchestral musicians. She currently serves as president of the Oakton High School Orchestra Booster Club and is a violinist in her church orchestra.
