Martin Hutt is a land use attorney with Lerch, Early & Brewer’s Land Use & Zoning group. He works with both residential and commercial property owners on property tax appeals, zoning, regulatory and other real estate development and administrative matters.
Marty counsels individuals, businesses and developers around the region. Among his clients are some of the largest builders in Montgomery County as well as a major luxury automobile dealership. He is widely respected for his willingness to work with regulatory staff in a professional, courteous manner in order to identify all the pertinent issues and work out solutions to the mutual satisfaction of all parties.
Many property owners reach out to Marty when they believe their assessments do not accurately reflect current market value. He helps these clients navigate the property tax appeal process from the initial appeal (at reassessment, purchase or between assessment periods) at the Supervisor, Appeal Board or Tax Court level. He is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Born in Washington, D.C., he received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland and his Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School.
Marty enjoys relaxing at the beach where some of his favorite days are spent observing the ocean waves with his grandchildren.
