Anthony L. Millin

Anthony Millin, an attorney in Lerch, Early & Brewer’s Business & Taxation practice group, brings a unique combination of legal and business experience to his representation of businesses and business owners.  Anthony is a strategic thinker, a creative problem solver, a seasoned negotiator, and an energetic and passionate advocate.
 
Anthony has been a founder, president, and general counsel of companies in internet/technology, clean energy, and education in the United States and China.  This experience in building and running companies provides Anthony with invaluable insight into the needs of his business clients. It also enables Anthony to understand a business, its challenges, and its goals from the perspective of a business owner.
 
Anthony’s legal practice covers a broad range of general corporate work. This includes: formation of entities in the U.S., the Caribbean, Hong Kong, and Mainland China; structuring employee stock option and restricted stock plans, and other compensation arrangements; corporate governance; and strategic partnerships and joint ventures. Anthony’s practice also includes equity and debt financings, recapitalizations, and mergers and acquisitions.
 
Anthony works with clients ranging from start-up and emerging growth businesses to mature privately held companies, and with non-profit organizations.   He also has worked closely with venture capital firms, private equity firms, merchant banks, and hedge funds.   Anthony serves businesses across multiple industries including internet/technology, clean energy, education and health care services.  He also brings his China-based experience to assist early-stage and middle-market companies in China interested in conducting business in the U.S., and U.S. companies with similar interests in China.
 
Anthony received his Bachelor of Science from The Wharton School, University Of Pennsylvania and his Juris Doctor from The George Washington University. He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, New Jersey and New York.
 
Anthony serves on the advisory board of the Maryland Clean Energy Center, and is on the board of directors of the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation, where he is the subcommittee chair on partnerships and funding. He also is on the board of Bethesda Green. In addition, Anthony is a founder and director of Lauren’s Light, a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and empower families in which a parent with young children has been diagnosed with cancer.
 
Anthony is originally from South Africa, and enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He is also an avid tennis player and swimmer.
