Mr. Joyce practices in the firm's Commercial Lending Group. He has extensive experience in
commercial and real estate lending, loan workouts, restructurings and matters involving creditors' rights, as well as other business and financing matters. Mr. Joyce has represented financial institutions in virtually every aspect of banking law since beginning practice in 1965. He has lectured and participated in seminars on subjects of commercial lending and other business subjects on numerous occasions.
Listed below are examples of recent representations:
- Represented lenders from commitment letter to closing of approximately $50 million in commercial construction loans.
- Negotiated several workout and forbearance agreements relating to commercial and real estate loans.
- Prepared the loan documents and provided legal advice in connection with a loan secured by copyrights, investment accounts and other "hi-tech" assets.
- Presented a number of seminars directly to lender clients, Risk Management Association, Center for Financial Training and local Bar Associations on the subjects of Revised Article 9 of the UCC; real estate loan documentation, commercial loan documentation,
lender liability and workout strategies for troubled loans.
- Provided legal advice and prepared loan documents in connection with new loans and the restructuring of existing loans to automobile dealers, nursing home operators and a variety of other businesses.
