Michael J. Goecke is a senior associate in the firm’s Litigation and Community Associations groups. Mike’s practice involves a range of business matters with an emphasis on civil litigation in Maryland and Washington, DC. He also handles arbitrations throughout the United States. Mike has represented clients in federal and state courts, mediations, arbitrations, and before administrative agencies. He has argued numerous motions, including several for summary judgment, and has also argued before the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.
Mike previously worked for a major Washington, DC law firm, where he represented Fortune 500 companies and smaller organizations in defense of toxic tort, product liability, and asbestos litigation, as well as on commercial litigation matters. He also represented hospitals in breach of contract disputes with their pharmacy management consultants.
Before moving to Washington, Mike worked for one of the oldest firms in Detroit, Michigan, and handled a range of corporate and commercial matters that included litigation related to building and road construction, professional liability, premises liability, and environmental contamination.
Mike is admitted to practice in Maryland, the District of Columbia and in Michigan, as well as before the federal district courts in the District of Columbia and the Eastern District of Michigan.
Mike received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School, where he was an assistant editor of the Wayne Law Review and served on the Moot Court Board of Directors.
